Ivanka Trump would probably be famous even if her father wasn’t Donald Trump. Beautiful enough to be a model, clever enough to be a successful businesswoman, and hard-working enough to make a coal miner blush in shame, she would have surfaced in the world no matter what. Now she can add adviser to the President on her resume, but Ivanka has been achieving things since she was a child. Success though rarely comes without a few shadows in one’s past and the President’s daughter has her share. Read more to find out who Ivanka is behind the mask!
Ivanka was born in the Trump family in 1981, daughter of a billionaire and a model. Her father’s affluence made sure her every need and desire was covered and her life seemed idyllic, assured of the best education, health insurance, and a massive family fortune waiting for her to grow up. Life finds a way to create chaos though and her parents got a divorce when she was ten years old.
A DIFFICULT DIVORCE
Unfortunately, her parents’ divorce was not a quiet event, as her mother’s divorce lawyer challenged their prenup and her father’s affair with an actress became public knowledge. Ivanka was thrust into the spotlight without consideration for her mental health. Thankfully, she did not turn to drugs and alcohol like other children with too much money and too little supervision.
LIFE AS A TRUMP TEENAGER
By 15, when Ivanka hosted the Miss Teen USA Pageant, she was pretty enough to take part in the competition but her father had other plans. She was transferred to a private boarding school in Connecticut, Choate Rosemary Hall. She felt imprisoned there but perhaps it was what kept her away from drugs. It also paved the way for her to pursue a college education.
BORN WITH A SILVER SPOON
One thing which is a constant for Ivanka through her life is her support both for her family and her father’s legacy in particular. In the documentary Born Rich, she gave the world a glimpse of her private life as a rich heiress, including her Motley Crue poster. But more importantly, she stated clearly that she is not affected by the news stories and the rumors about her family. She went as far as to say she was proud to be a Trump.
